Vision Database Systems Introduces POCKETRACKER™ K-12, a Mobile Handheld Student Behavior Tracking System
Benefits include the Ability to Instantly ID a Student; Automate Behavior Policy Compliance; Improve Policy Enforcement; and Eliminate Unnecessary Paperwork.
Jupiter, FL – January 5, 2005 - Vision Database Systems, Inc., a leader in development of ID Card and Identity Tracking and Verification solutions introduces POCKETRACKER™ K-12, a handheld system that tracks a student’s time, tardies, detentions, and even class schedule from everywhere on campus. Utilizing a Pocket PC, bar code scanner, optional portable belt printer, and POCKETRACKER™ K-12 software, hall monitors and school administrators can instantly display a student’s photo, class schedule, disciplinary history, and other pertinent student data right from the palm of their hand.
Used with the portable printer, a paper pass to class can be instantly printed and tardy, dress code, or other student violations can be assigned on the spot and “receipt” of the violation printed and given to the student. The system can also be set up and used to reward positive behavior by assigning point values for completing homework assignments, group participation, on time attendance, etc., and the points can be redeemed at designated locations on campus, like the school store.
For less than $3,000 an average school can implement a comprehensive system designed to automate and enforce the school’s discipline and behavior policies. A Starting system includes one loaded POCKETRACKER™ K-12 handheld device and one license of RapIDtrack™ K-12 Administration software, which acts as the central hub for exchange and synchronization of student data and violation history. Additional devices can be added as needed.
Jon Price, the Principal from Palm Beach Gardens High School, recently implemented the complete system with 11 handheld units. Prior to the implementation, students who were late were sent to “holding pens” and missed their first period class as punishment. With the new handhelds, students get a tardy receipt and a lunch detention and are sent directly to class. “When students are held accountable for the little things like tardies, the big things often take care of themselves. This product really streamlines discipline and creates more instructional time” said Prince.
“The time and labor savings by eliminating paper forms, phoning or searching for student data, is enormous considering the modest cost for the system. But the real beauty of the system is the ability to have a fair, and easy to use system for applying school policy rules, which increases morale, and frees administrators for more productive education tasks as well as making the campus environment more secure,” stated Emil Bonaduce, President of Vision Database Systems.
Vision Database Systems specializes in software development, and offers a full line of card production systems, under their signature RapIDcard®, as well as a variety of handheld and PC based tracking and verification solutions, including biometric authentication options.
